Xenogears is Square's 1998 PlayStation RPG and the debut entry in the long-running Xeno saga. Born out of early Final Fantasy VII brainstorming, it follows Fei Fong Wong through a sprawling two-disc story of giant mechs (Gears), philosophy, and religion. Acclaimed for its ambition and music, it has become a beloved cult classic and the spiritual root of the later Xenosaga and Xenoblade games.
